BerryWorld launched a new mixed berry selection pack at Waitrose last month, fuelling a massive boost in sales of mixed fruit punnets.
The pack, which contains strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, has been designed so that the consumer can use the punnet as a serving bowl, with the lid fitting to the bottom of the pack.
Purchases of mixed berries in Waitrose have increased by 159 per cent since the launch of this new pack.
BerryWorld has been supplying mixed packs for years, but this product is distinctive because it is the first pack in which all the berries have been mixed together in one container, rather than separated by dividers.
The new pack was featured in tastings in July and was very well received by both consumers and staff.
BerryWorld sales director Paul Cole said: “We have launched this new line with Waitrose to offer the consumer a selection of berries in one pack that can be used for various occasions.”
The 450g mixed pack can be found exclusively in all Waitrose stores.
