Berry punnets with three separate compartments have been introduced by packaging manufacturer Sharpak.

The 3-cavity punnets and the simultaneously introduced mixed berry packs (pictured) are designed to be attractive centre table pieces, without the need to move the fruit into a different container.

It is hoped the way the fruit is presented will tempt shoppers looking for a fresh and convenient dessert or snack.

Sharpak has also introduced a line of small berry punnets that can be packed into school lunch boxes.

A recent survey by the Produce for Better Health Foundation showed that 90 per cent of mothers questioned said it was important to include fruit and vegetables in family meals, and that they valued including fresh fruit in their children’s lunchboxes and having a regular supply of fruit at home.

All these packs use r-APET plastic, which has up to 60 per cent fully traceable and recycled post consumer food-use approved waste.
