The Global Berry Congress has confirmed some of the berry world's leading players as its latest keynote speakers.

Joe Barsi of California Giant Berry Farms will cover growing new market opportunities for strawberries and blueberries and the challenges that suppliers may face in marketing these popular varieties in uncharted territories.

The vice-president of produce for US supermarket chain Raley's, Greg Corrigan, and US-based Naturipe Farms' Robert Verloop, will tell delegates how they can make the most of new market dynamics in the US as demand for fresh berries is evolving in line with big shifts in shopper behaviour.

Corrigan will be joined by Dr Andrew Granger of Plant and Food Research (NZ) will also be on-hand to explain the importance of new varietal development for success in the fresh berry market.
