Flandria early potatoes have got off to a promising start, the season has started earlier than anticipated and Belgian auctions are expecting a 10-15 per cent increase in supply.
The proportion of early potatoes offered under the Flandria quality label is also expected to increase to 60 per cent, as opposed to 45 per cent two years ago.
The cultivar Rode Eersteling accounts for 15 per cent of the Flandria crop. This is a red skinned variety with a full, robust flavour that remained firm when boiled.
Flandria early potatoes are offered as standard in an EPS medium container with a net content of 15kg. This year the crate card has a new look in the new house style of all Flandria products and with the quality mark's new logo.
