Brecon-based fresh and exotic food supplier Beacon Foods has been exciting its customers with a new range of bean mixes.

The company’s NPD team has been working with black-eyed beans, borlotti, butterbeans, kidney beans, canellini beans and chickpeas to create interesting combinations and custom-made recipes.

Bespoke production is one of Beacon’s key strengths according to managing director, Edward Gough.

"We are encouraged by the positive feedback that we have received to our bean mixes and are happy to work with customers to develop new products to their specification," he said.

One mix showing signs of success is the combination of borlotti and black-eyed beans with sweetcorn kernels, chilli jam and sundried tomato paste.

When roasted together the ingredients form an ideal dinner for vegetarians, a tasty side dish or filling for sandwiches and wraps, the company has said.

Beacon Foods supplies some of the UK’s leading food manufacturers and food service companies with a range of more than 500 varieties of processed and cooked vegetables, fruits, pulses and herbs, including an organic range.
