Philip Smits: dedicated

Bayer CropScience has signed a global co-operation deal with The Greenery to further expand its food chain partnership projects on a global scale.

The project is designed to implement optimised crop protection programmes to help pursue the sustainable production of high-quality fruit and vegetables and support producers.

Bayer CropScience and The Greenery already collaborate on more than 30 projects in Latin and Central America as well as in Europe, Africa and Asia.

Based on these experiences in individual countries, both companies have decided to further expand their collaboration and announced the agreement at a signing ceremony in Monheim, Germany.

Philip Smits, chief executive of The Greenery, said: “This continued co-operation shows the dedication of our partners and underlines our commitment to increasing the production of fruit and vegetables in a sustainable manner.”

Dr Rüdiger Scheitza, member of the management board of Bayer CropScience AG and head of portfolio management, added: “This agreement marks a milestone in our collaboration."
