Matthew Barton, of Manchester wholesaler Barton and Redman, was presented with the MorePeople Young Person of the Year award.
He said: “I am honoured to receive the Young Person of the Year award. I worked really hard for it. Not just me, we’ve got a great team down on the market.
“My younger brother has just joined the sales team which gives me the time to find more business further afield in Birmingham, Liverpool and Huddersfield. I’m hoping to get a few more wagons on the road.
“My brother started as a forklift truck driver and I took him under my wing. You have to start at the bottom to get to the top.”
