Vegetable producer Alan Bartlett will feature on a primetime television programme presented by celebrity chef Nigel Slater and Countryfile presenter Adam Henson.

Nigel and Adam’s Farm Kitchen will highlight the importance of knowing where food comes from.

Episode one will tour Alan Bartlett’s factory at Chatteris, in Cambridgeshire. It will air on BBC One on 20 November from 8pm.

Bartlett’s director Terry Hawthorn said he enjoyed hosting Adam and the BBC crew. “It was great to be given the opportunity to show the British public the hard work and innovation that goes into producing carrots for their dinner plate,” he said.

The four-part series will see Nigel and Adam demonstrate recipes using the nation’s top 50 most-bought foods, and explore the path our food takes from field to fork.

Alan Bartlett specialises in carrot and parsnip production from seed to supermarket.
