Costa Rica will play host to the 4th international banana conference. The event, which expects to welcome 25 speakers from 10 different countries and more than 600 delegates, will be held in San José on 20-24 February 2012.
Topics covered include climate change, the latest developments in research, soil health, consumer behaviour, best farming practice, sustainable and ethical production, and biological control.
Speakers have been confirmed from research agency Cirad in France, Plant Research International in the Netherlands, the tropical agriculture research centre, Ciat in Colombia, trade association Freshfel in Brussels and the University of Western Australia.
