Banacol branches out to indigenous families

The number of families helped by Colombian banana company housing project has risen to 84.

Banacol set up a its social foundation Corbanacol in the 1990s and now its Jaikerazabi housing project in the state of Antioquia has brought decent housing to 84 indigenous families of the Emberá Katio community in traditional tambo dwellings.

Under the banner Healthy Housing, the organisation has had support from various, state, federal and international agencies and has extended the project to include Healthy Schools for the community’s youngsters.
