Ball Colegrave will be launching several new varieties at this year’s show, including a new series of ‘Mini-Me’ compact Petunias.

The hardy petunias, which can stand high pH and EC conditions and both hot and rainy weather, produce a tight profile petunia with a half-hanging habit. The flowers are heavily branched with short internodes, bearing two to three centimetre flowers which the company says is perfect for small pot production and baskets.

The company will also be showing the new additions to its ‘Fantastic Flowers’ collection. ‘Utopia’ is the first ever Bacopa available as seed, which offers fully automated production, easy scheduling and, according to Ball Colegrave, superior natural branching for ‘stunning’ show baskets and patio pots.

‘ShockWave’ is a new F1 small-flowered spreading and trailing Petunia which is versatile and easy to grow. The company said that the ShockWave ‘produces hanging baskets like no other’, with small, high-impact, four to five centimetre blooms.

The stand will also feature the ‘Matrix’ Pansy, which has been designed to grower specifications and will be launched in a new colour. The ‘Raspberry Sundae Mix’ Matrix is an easy to grow, large-flowered autumn and spring pansy, which has a distinctive strong branching that covers the pot before flowering, without the stretch experienced with many other varieties. The pansy is available in 7 other colours.
