The new site is close to the company's packing and storage facilities and is easily accessible by both road and rail.

As joint managing director Lance Cornell explains: 'Logistically, the office, situated at Cathedral Square in Peterborough town centre, is extremely well placed. It will enhance communications and, at the same time, enable us to keep an even closer eye on the business, particularly in terms of high quality provision.' Avicorn Ltd was set up in 1989 and has built a reputation as a high-quality supplier of a wide range of fresh produce including potatoes, onions, calabrese, apples, pears and summer fruits to all levels of the supply chain. More recently, it has expanded its supply base and developed links with Egypt and Chile.
