After a difficult few weeks for British asparagus growth in Britain, the product has arrived in large numbers with the majority of retailers now reporting full stock.
With five weeks left of its official season, the forecast for the rest of May and June is positive for the sun-dependent produce, with warm and dry weather forecasted.
The warm start to the year, followed by a prolonged dry spell and then unseasonably cold, wet weather had previously dented asparagus volumes throughout April and most of May.
