The Derbyshire town of Ashbourne is the place to be on Saturday, as up to 200 locals attempt to break a banana world record.
In order to mark Fairtrade fortnight, organisers have hatched plans to create a new record for the highest number of people eating bananas at the same time.
One of them, Stuart Green, told local press: "We hope to set a world record that will be very difficult to beat."
The event, in the town’s Victoria Square, is open to any visitors or interested participants.
