The latest figures released by TNS suggest that Asda clawed some share back from Tesco in the 12 weeks to September 11.
Perhaps surprisingly in view of another predicition-busting set of half-year Tesco figures, Asda is said to have increased its share of the £80bn grocery market by 0.2 per cent to 16.9 per cent in the period, while Tesco's share dipped by the same 0.2 per cent, to 30.3 per cent.
Tesco had reached a record level of 30.5 per cent in the 12 weeks to August 14.
