Asda has become the first UK retailer to stock limequats, a cross between a kumquat and a Mexican lime.
The fruit’s pulp is bitter and contains small edible seeds.
Emma Kirk from Asda said: “Our customers have increasingly adventurous tastes and are broadening their culinary horizons to experiment with new fruits and vegetables.”
The fruits cost £1.28 for a 115g pack.
