Asda colleagues back to nursery

English Village Salads has been playing host to employees from its main customer Asda. The initiative is in support of Asda’s commitment to Yorkshire grown produce in local stores. The employees were all from outlets close to the East Yorkshire grower and visited Mill Nurseries. The nursery plants 34 acres of toms for sale in Asda every year.

Judith Alderman of Asda Huddersfield said "I was really surprised at how many varieties they do, many speciality tomatoes too".

English Village Salads is working with Asda to drive sales of Yorkshire products within the region. About a fifth of all UK-grown salads sold in Asda’s Yorkshire stores are from within the region.

Last season, Asda launched its first ever British Winter Tomatoes which were grown in Yorkshire.
