Asda is celebrating five years within the Wal-Mart fold this summer.
"Asda has always been a very special company," said chief executive Tony DeNunzio, "and being part of Wal-Mart has helped us to become an even better Asda. It’s been five great years. Big thanks to everyone who plays a part in our success - the colleagues who work so hard in our stores, depots, George House and Asda House - our suppliers, large and small, and all our business partners."
DeNunzio was celebrating the five-year milestone with suppliers, colleagues and the press at a launch of its Extra Special brand into home ware and a fashion show for the George clothes brand summer collection in London this week.
