Deluded workaholic Lynne Siddiq just refuses to give up her job in Blackburn's Asda, despite the fact that she now lives in Spain.

The stubborn employee who emigrated to Marbella in March insists that the three-day a week checkout job she has done for the last four years is so enjoyable that she doesn't even mind losing money to keep it on.

At a weekly wage of just £75.92 she's certainly not quids in ñ since the humble amount does not even cover the cost of her taxi from Liverpool airport to the store and back, and with air fares anything from £55 to £344, the Sun helpfully calculated that for each hour that she works she actually loses £12.09.

Despite her arduous journey, mathematically-challenged Siddiq insists on keeping her job ñ despite what others might think. “My colleagues find it amazing ñ and some think I'm daft,” she admitted, “but I've always enjoyed working for Asda. I've got lots of friends here and it gives me a link back home.”

An Asda spokesperson quipped: “Lynne's a real high flier.

“We like to go the extra mile for all of our customers, but she really goes out of her way.”
