Production of apples and pears in the main growing regions of Argentina is forecast to fall this year.
Research by the University of Comahue expects apple output to drop 10 per cent and pear output to increase three per cent, leading to an overall four per cent decline in the top-fruit sector.
In Neuquen, output is expected to be 27 per cent down as wage disputes have delayed the start of the harvest and there are reports of land being sold off.
