Suffolk-based pest management and fumigation company Igrox has been awarded a second Gold Medal by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The charity’s Awards Adjudication Panel presented the company with the accolade in recognition of being awarded six consecutive Gold Awards in the period 2002 to 2007.

The Gold Award is normally given to a company that reduces the number of accidents and cases of ill-health in the workplace, and also has good health and safety management systems in place. Igrox, who became members of the society in 2001, says that this demonstrates its commitment to high levels of performance in this ‘crucial area’.

Mark Braithwaite, the company’s managing director, said: “We are obviously delighted at winning this award for the sixth time. When we originally entered the awards scheme our aim was to get external verification that we are working proactively with regards to the health and safety needs of our employees and clients.

“We are setting our sights on a seventh award next year,” he added.
