There is another new name in the produce business.

Solanum, Isleham Fresh Produce, RB Organics and Rustler Produce have formalised their relationship under the holding company banner of Produce World Limited. The new entity became legal on March 3.

Managing director Jason Burgess said the new company will have a combined turnover of £90 million, which makes it one of the biggest growing and packing businesses in the produce industry.

'Day to day, little will appear to change,' he added. 'Each business will remain focused on its speciality, but as time goes by the businesses will be working more closely together to extract the benefits of ever closer union.'
