The Anglia Farmers buying group has announced a sizeable increase in turnover for the year.

The collective group said that turnover for the year ending January 31, 2007, was up 23 per cent to £72.2 million.

The net surplus for the year, to be retained in reserves, was a little over £82,400, a 64 per cent increase, while net assets stood at just over £1 million, itself a 10 per cent rise.

Negotiating prices for other agricultural buying groups boosted Anglia Farmers’ buying power to more than £100m in 2006.
