UK soft-fruit specialist AMS Ltd has moved to quash trade rumours that it has gone into administration.

Carol Ford, sales director, told FPJ: “We are still trading and taking orders.”

Talk this week on wholesale markets was that the firm had failed to pay some of its suppliers overseas for several months. Ford neither confirmed nor denied the allegation but added that the firm was “in discussions” with its suppliers in Spain.

Meanwhile, another AMS source, speaking under instruction of the directors, told FPJ on Wednesday: “We are just having a cash flow problem and it is being worked on by the directors.”
