The Produce Marketing Association’s (PMA) Retail Produce Solutions Conference (RPSC) got off to a strong start in Monterey, California, with a standing-room-only crowd of more than 150 buyers and sellers attending PMA’s Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Fresh Produce Academy (FPA).

The RFID FPA featured an entire day devoted to educational and networking opportunities, including an interactive exposition highlighting leading technology vendors.

“RFID has the potential to revolutionise how the fresh produce supply chain does business. It is critical that we stay on top of this ever-changing technology - and PMA is uniquely positioned to provide the supply chain with learning opportunities that keep us informed, aware, and connected,” said Tom Casas, vice president of information and technology, Tanimura and Antle, and vice chair of PMA’s RFID Task Force.

PMA’s vice president of industry standards and technology Gary Fleming agreed: “The RFID FPA is just one example of the emphasis PMA has placed on providing members with more products and services to help them make the right technology choices for their company.”
