Organisers have decided to postpone the allFresh conference in South Africa slated for 16 September until next year, blaming the global economic squeeze and FIFA World Cup costs. A spokeswoman for the event told FPJ: “Given the status of the current economic climate and that business is still recovering from the expenses of the FIFA World Cup hosted in South Africa this year, we believe that it will be prudent to postpone to the latter half of 2011."

The organisers are concerned that the market is saturated with events. "We believe that we would rather take more time to plan the event to ensure a successful outcome for the participants," they said in a statement. " Added to this, we have undertaken to explore a new business matchmaking concept for the event that we could not deliver in time for 2010, hence we believe that this will be in place for 2011 and will enhance and strengthen participation.”
