Huge discount move sees prices of 55 products falling by an average of 11 per cent
Aldi has dropped the price of a wide range of fruit and veg lines.
The discounter’s latest price cuts affect around a third of its entire fresh produce range, with 55 items falling by an average of 11 per cent. Products such as bananas, apples, spinach and courgettes join the likes of Specially Selected Cotton Candy grapes among the reductions.
Some of the biggest discounts include Brussels sprouts, down from £1.29 to 95p; 500g of Chantenay carrots, 20p off at 75p; and a two-pack of Sweet Gem lettuce, 16p off at 79p.
Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi UK, said: “Our promise to our customers is that we will always keep our prices as low as possible. We remain fiercely committed to doing that – now and always.
”This latest price drop is part of our efforts to make healthy, high-quality groceries accessible to everyone. That will always be our mission, and it’s why we continue to see shoppers switch to Aldi.”
