Aldi has been crownedBest Grocerfor the second year in a row at the Retail Week Awards, beating off stiff competition from runner up, The Co-Op.
For 25 years the awards have celebrated creativity, innovation and excellence in the retail sector.
The title of Best Grocer went to Aldi for its achievements over the past year as well its longstanding commitment to delivering high quality products at low prices.
Julie Ashfield, managing director of corporate buying at Aldi, said: “We’re delighted to have won Best Grocer at the Retail Week Awards for the second consecutive year.
“The recognition of Aldi as a market leader from top industry influencers is testament to the hard work we put in every year, providing customers with high quality products at amazing prices.”
Among the other winners wereTesco chief executive Dave Lewis (Outstanding Contribution to Retail), Ocado CEO and founder Tim Steiner (Retail Leader of the Year), and The Co-op (Responsible Retailer).
