Reductions and price locks include Christmas veg such as Brussels sprouts
Aldi has announced a £12 million investment in lowering more than 180 products in the run up to Christmas.
Over the festive season the discounter said it was lowering the price of “iconic” Christmas products, from veg to stuffing, chocolate and prosecco, by an average of over 20 per cent.
The price drops include a stalk of Brussels sprouts, down 10p at £1.09.
The latest move follows Aldi’s reduction of almost 300 prices in the past few months, and the announcement of its ‘Christmas Price Lock’, which sees a range of festive favourites – including vegetables – held at the same price as a year ago.
Managing director of buying at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, said: “This latest investment is part of our continued efforts to make great-quality food affordable for all, from party food treats to iconic Christmas essentials.
“We want everyone to be able to enjoy the festive season, so we’re doing all we can to keep our prices low this Christmas, just as we always do.”
