The 18th Agro-Mashov International Agricultural Exhibition, to be held on January 9-10 2008 at the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds, will focus on adjusting agricultural production and marketing to specific consumer needs, and agriculture in eastern Europe and the Far East.

The show is expected to attract some 20,000 visitors, who will also be able to see Israel's agricultural products within the framework of the VFF (Vegetables, Fruit, Flowers) Exhibition, scheduled to be held at the same time.

A symposium called Global Trade in Agricultural Products will focus on modern consumerism and the rising demand for organically grown products. A special workshop will also be held on the rapid agricultural development in eastern Europe and the Far East, which have become important targets for Israeli fresh produce exporters. A special section will deal with strategies in supplying Russia.

Fabio Pichalli, president of the Mediterranean Organic Agricultural Association, and B.H. Jain, president and ceo of the JAIN Group, are expected to be among the leading visitors to the exhibition. Buyers and representatives of Europe's leading food chains are also expected.
