A bottle of Grants Whisky is to be given away with pallets of new-season set-skin Carmel mid potatoes sold by Israeli exporter Agrexco to the wholesale trade.
The offer is available to 500 wholesale customers, on a first come-first served basis.
The mids, predominantly the Nicola variety, will last until until July, and limited volumes of Maris Peer and Carlingford will also be available.
Andy Olsen, sales manager of the Agrexco wholesale desk, said the firm was keen to continue the longstanding tradition of mid-potato promotions.
He said: “We are one of the few suppliers who can produce the desirable 10kg boxed line on a 12-monthly basis, but we really like to fly the flag when the Israeli set-skin produce arrives in the UK.”
The promotion is intended to draw attention to the product at a key time.
Olsen added: “This is a specialist line distributed only to the wholesale market and it emphasises Agrexco’s longstanding commitment to this sector. We have a very loyal customer base for the 10kg box and we like to reward this by supplying the best-quality produce available, along with a token of thanks such as the odd bottle of whisky.”
