Agrexco positive over pepper season

Agrexco has heralded the start of the Israeli pepper season, citing its Ever Green Pepper as a particularly strong product this year.

The exporter claims its Carmel-branded peppers are sturdy and have proven themselves resilient to seafreight, carrying a promise for long shelf life.

The peppers' packaging consists of a brown carton with minimal graphics, which eliminates excessive use of printing ink proven harmful for the environment. Special attention was paid to the issue of weight in order to decrease use of raw materials, which has helped recuded the packaging weight by 50 per cent.

In a statement, Agrexco said: “Apart from cost implications, the improved packaging improves the visual traits of the product, causing at the same time impressive decrease of the packaging volume and quantity negatively affecting the environment.”

Agrexco has made all the necessary preparations for expanding its packaging capabilities of Traffic light or Mix Pack, according to the plans of the various chains.

Agrexco has a large base of pepper growers all over Israel, enabling the company to assure continuous supply of peppers throughout the season. All of the growers hold GlobalGAP licences, as well as the various standards required by UK retailers.
