Agrexco product manager for citrus Yenon Osem recently went to visit growers in Peru. 'The climate is perfect for growing citrus,' said Osem, 'long, hot days with constant sun and an extreme drop in temperature at night, all necessary requirements for producing top quality fruit.' Agrexco has been cultivating working relationships with Peruvian suppliers and has lent technical support at all stages of the supply chain. The Israeli firm has a technician based on site in Peru permanently. The main packhouse Agrexco sources from, La Collera, has been approved by most of the UK multiples. These customers are already enjoying a five week satsuma season set to close by the end of July overlapping in mid-July with supplies of Minneola, which are set to continue into September.
