The pomegranate arils will be peeled and separated

Agrexco is readying itself for the onset of the Israeli pomegranate season, with promising volumes of its ready-to-eat peeled offer set for export.

The exporter reports that 70 tonnes of its “Ready-to-Eat Health Jewels” will be exported in the form of peeled and separated sweet pomegranate arils.

The pomegranate arils will be marketed to consumers in 100-500g packaging and to retailers in one to two tonnes packaging, with a total of 70t to be marketed this season, from September until March 2010.

Bezalel Madmon, product manager at Agrexco, said the Carmel-branded fruit resembled “crimson rubies and the transparent vacuum packaging extenuates their beauty”.
