Trade ministers from Ghana, Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire met in Yaoundé at the end of last month to agree a common stance on changes to the EU banana import regime. The ministers are keen to ensure that a €190 million fund from the EU over the next four years - to help producers in ACP countries adapt to the new regime which will see dollar bananas from Latin America enter on a reduced tariff - is shared equally between the 10 eligible countries.
