This year's event is set to be bigger than Summit07

IGD director of industry development David Gordon is to complete the programme of speakers at the Assocation of Convenience Stores’ (ACS) Summit08, later this month.

Gordon will be speaking as part of a session on the environment, alongside Friends of the Earth director Tony Juniper.

Video case studies of Proudfoots, Harry Tuffins and Plymouth & South-West Co-op will feature the environmental measures they have taken in their stores.

Other speakers will include Simon Woodroffe, James Perry from the retailer Cook, wholesaler Steve Parfett, independent retailer Andrew Thornton, world-renowned retailer Edwin Booth and inspirational speaker Ken Hames, as well as videos from independents Jonathan James, Appean Sharma and Martin Lovell.

All the speakers will be interviewed by John Stapleton, who will chair the event.

The event will be held in Birmingham on April 24.

More than 370 places for the Summit08 have already been sold - substantially more than the 2007 event - and more than 200 retailers attending this year, more than in any previous year.
