The FloraHolland flower auction will be holding the Aalsmeer Market from October 15-17, 2008. The international trade fair for exporters and wholesalers will be held at the same time as the Flower Council Holland’s HortiFair. Apart from a vast trade assortment of flowers and plants, which can be ordered directly, the Aalsmeer Market also offers a meeting place for existing and new business contacts.

The tenth edition of the Aalsmeer fair will include a number of new elements and a record number of 500 exhibitors. The event’s collaboration with the HortiFair is a first this year, and will include an improved shuttle bus link between Aalsmeer and Amsterdam, as well as in the Aalsmeer Market Showcase at the HortiFair in Amsterdam.

Many familiar elements are also returning to the Aalsmeer Market and thousands of different plants and cut flowers will be presented at the various market plazas. The new products plaza will introduce exporters and wholesalers to a diversity of new varieties, and will feature more than 50 new varieties of flowers, plants and concepts with added value. Both a professional and an audience jury will judge the new products in each product group and the best new products will be nominated for the FloraHolland Award 2009.

For the first time, retail presentations will be given their own location: the Aalsmeer Market Expo. This extension of the fair floor right next to the original fair location is open to all fair visitors. The retail market is situated in the Aalsmeer Market Expo, and is an inspiring environment in which customers and their end customers can discuss the conceptual interpretations for shop shelves and the wishes of their chain partners.

The Aalsmeer Market is held on the plants floor of the FloraHolland Aalsmeer location. The fair is open from 8.30am to 5pm on the Wednesday and Thursday of the show and on Friday the hours are 8.30am to 2pm. Admission to the Aalsmeer Market is free for trade visitors.
