Discounter Aldi has been crowned the UK's number one supermarket at the annual Which? awards.
The consumer watchdog said the budget retailer trumped the competition, which included Sainsbury's and Tesco, due to its 'impressive range of quality food and good pricing.'
Aldi UK's joint group managing directors Matthew Barnes and Roman Heini believe the win is proof that UK consumers are starting to move away from the big four supermarkets.
Barnes said: 'Winning this award for the second year in a row just goes to show that consumers in the UK are moving away from the big four supermarkets, realising that swapping to Aldi can save them a significant amount of money on their weekly shop, without having to compromise on quality.'
The award win comes off the back of Aldi achieving an all-time record market share of 3.6 per cent in the latest data from Kantar Worldpanel.
