The Welsh Assembly government has set up a new website - Truetaste.tv - to enable Welsh food and drink producers, trade and media to access news relating to the Wales the True Taste Food and Drink Awards.

Construction of the new website is part of an ongoing move to revitalise the image of the Wales the True Taste Food and Drink Awards and develop awareness of the prestigious scheme.

A short showreel of the 2009 Awards - which took place outside Cardiff, in the market town of Abergavenny, for the first time in its seven-year history - provides some background to what is often referred to as the 'Oscars' of the Welsh food and drink industry.

Furthermore, as website construction progresses, visitors to the site will be able to attend virtual trips whereby they are provided with a guided tour of a producer's farm, factory, kitchen or restaurant to explore further.

Members are now able to register themselves on the website in order to access and download the latest producer and awards news, as well as hi-res producer, product and lifestyle images.

In addition, there are options for media to express an interest in judging at the 2010 awards, attending the 2010 awards ceremony, visiting award-winning producers in Wales (including a specific region) and food festivals such as the Royal Welsh Show, Conwy Feast and the Abergavenny Food Festival.
