Prepared produce manufacturer Natures Way Foods (NWF) is celebrating its 20th year of business.

To celebrate the anniversary, NWF has planned a week of special events for employees and VIP guests, which began yesterday (12 May) and culminates in a cake-cutting ceremony for all employees and the investment board.

Originally founded in 1994 by brothers Robert and David Langmead, to supply ready-to-eat bagged salads to Tesco, the company now has over 800 employees and an annual turnover (in 2013) of £123 million.

Susan Barratt, CEO of Natures Way Foods, said: “We are extremely proud of our achievements over the past 20 years and the growth the business has enjoyed. This is testimony to the great relationships we have with our customers, suppliers and employees and we thank everyone for their commitment and support.

“As we move forward, our focus is on becoming a value-added food manufacturer and on diversifying our capability into a more varied range of food ingredients and products.”

VIP visits have been scheduled to thank customers and employees for their support over two decades. The longest serving member of staff – who has been with the company since the beginning - will be presented with a commemorative plaque and all employees will receive a gift and brochure recalling the business’ history.

“We are very optimistic about our position in the market. Our business is strong and we are looking forward to thriving over the next 20 years,” Barratt added.
