IGD is offering 15 free places on its prestigious post-graduate certificate in Food and Grocery Industry Management to celebrate its centenary year.

The scholarship is IGD's leading management qualification and is validated by the University of Edinburgh.

IGD claims the scholarship is ideal for ambitious individuals working in any part of the food and grocery chain, including small- and medium-sized businesses and those in farming and agricultural sectors. It comprises five compulsory and one optional units to be studied over one year.

Joanne Denney-Finch, chief executive of the IGD, said: "Our heritage is in training and development, and in our centenary year, we are proud to offer this unique opportunity for industry professionals to broaden their understanding of the whole food and grocery chain.

"The course focuses on the skills and knowledge needed to progress in the industry and allows candidates to bring their learning into the workplace, as well as giving them the opportunity to network with others from across the food and grocery chain.

"We hope to encourage applicants from across the whole supply chain, including farming and agriculture, and particularly those working in small- and medium-sized businesses.”
