The former managing director of potato giant Albert Bartlett has been named as the new boss of crisp brand Tyrrells.
Paul Parkins has taken on the newly-created role of International Managing Director and has been tasked with driving Tyrrells’ international growth and support “ambitious expansion plans”.
As MD of Albert Bartlett for one year, Parkins was responsible for all UK and group operations. He left Bartletts in 2014 to work for a food consultancy. Previously he has worked for United Biscuits for around 10 years, including working as managing director for the firm’s Irish operations.
“Paul is a strong addition to our growing team and his passion and experience within the food sector are second to none,” said Tyrrells’ chief executive, David Milner.
The appointment follows Tyrrells’ recent acquisition of Australian snack firm Yarra Valley Snack Foods.
“We are in an exciting position following our recent Australian expansion and want to ensure we have all the correct tools and resources in place to take our plan one step further globally,” Milner added. “I look forward to working with Paul to help accelerate the international growth of the brand and drive our international agenda forward.”
