Manchester wholesaler Barton & Redman has dug deep to make a £1,000 donation to the Asian Earthquake Appeal. "We serve a big Asian community and felt it was important in the face of such a big disaster that we do what we can to support the region in its time of need," said salesman Chris Conway.
The wholesaler, which is the largest on Manchester's New Smithfield Market, made the donation through its chairman Paul Barton. It is a medium-sized firm employing 50 staff.
