A new punnet for soft fruit and other fruits has been introduced by UK food packaging distributor WFP.
The PAF8 punnet has been added to the Agripack range, to enhance the handling efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of plastic packaging.
It comes in clear or black material as standard, but other colour options are available subject to minimum order quantities, and they can be produced in PET or R-PET material.
The punnet can sealed by flow wrapping, heat-sealing, or using its patented lidding system.
A WFP spokesman said: “The PAF8 punnet is a significant breakthrough for the already popular Agripack range. It has been designed specifically for the 600x400mm UK crate, where eight punnets fit to a layer. The new accurate sizing ensures a close fit - optimising the use of available supermarket crate space and therefore increasing transport efficiency.
“The main aim is to get your produce to jump off the shelf at the consumer because of its presentation, freshness and quality appeal. Whilst achieving all of this, the new PAF8 punnet will save on the packing line, on transport costs and help the environment too.”
