Waitrose has come out as the favourite shop in Britain for the second year running in the Which? annual report.

Discounters Aldi and Lidl also raced into the survey’s top ten at seven and eight respectively, ahead of competition from Tesco and Sainsbury’s.

Waitrose sister company John Lewis came second in the poll, scoring 78 points to Waitrose’s 84.

Members of the consumer watchdog rated all the major shops in Britain on customer service, price, product and experience.
