The UK-based creator of new food brand Snackamolé has secured a deal to list their avocado dip in 550 Co-op stores across the country.
The deal marks a big step forward for the brand, owned by Born Tasty. Their 100g avocado snack is produced in Mexico using an authentic recipe with 99 per cent pure Hass avocado varieties.
The company use a non-thermal “Hyperbaric Pressure Processing method” to create the dip, a water-based cold pasteurisation technique, which is the equivalent to subjecting the avocados to an ocean depth pressure of 37 miles.
Born Tasty describe their method as “cutting-edge” as it eliminates microorganisms and the enzymes that cause the avocado flesh to brown, extending the life of the product, with the dips having an unopened shelf life of 35 days.
“2018 has already been an incredibly exciting year for Snackamolé and working closely with a fantastic convenience retailer like Co-op presents a great new opportunity for us to elevate the brand further and allow more consumers to buy a really great fresh-tasting avocado dip,” said Richard Lakeman, sales and marketing manager at Born Tasty.
Henry Guest, Co-op buyer, added: “Sales of the Snackamolé Dip & Chip are performing well and we expect this newest addition to be a big hit with our customers.”
