TV farmer and foodie Jimmy Doherty has spent the day at Lincolnshire brassica supplier TH Clements for his new programme Jimmy’s Grow Your Own Christmas.

The crew filmed the journey of the seasonal sprout from the field through the pack house and on to the supermarket shelves.

The show covers the different ingredients that go into a Christmas Dinner before culminating in a festive lunch for all involved cooked by Doherty and his mate Jamie Oliver.

Clements technical manager Jamie Chambers said: “It was a great pleasure to welcome Jimmy and the crew to the Clements business. He was truly amazed at the work that goes into producing and packing one of the year’s true delights. The sprout is a symbol of the festive period and Jimmy wanted to highlight the work that goes into producing the demand required for this time of year.

“The real treat came when I was invited down to London to celebrate the end of the programme with Jimmy, his family and other contributors. We were unaware that Jamie Oliver would be attending - so that was a pleasant surprise.

“It’s not everyday you have one of the most recognised chefs cooking for you in such close circles.”

TH Clements have also been given further cause for festive cheers after winning the top prize at the Boston business awards. It is a remarkable turn around for the supplier after a two-year period that has seen a 60 per cent change in management.

Technical manager Jamie Chambers was also presented with the runners up prize for best use of innovation and technology.
