Six tasty farmers paraded around London's Trafalgar Square and then appeared at Tesco Metro, Covent Garden on Monday, giving shoppers stickers and leaflets that carried the line "For food you can trust, follow the little red tractor." The team comprised the five men and one woman who won an NFU competition last month to find "the tastiest talent on a tractor". They were considered to best match the values of the little red tractor, namely that they were caring, fresh, wholesome and green. Their visit to Tesco marked the start of a national advertising campaign for the little red tractor, with more than 350 billboard posters springing up across the country along with a series of nationaland regional newspaper and magazine adverts. NFU pr manager Simon Rayner said: "They [the farmers] were able to explain to the public directly why they should buy food bearing the little red tractor logo. Their nationwide tour over the next few weeks will reinforce the message of the advertising campaign - for food you can trust, follow the little red tractor."
