Visitors to this year’s Restaurant Show will have the opportunity to hear how the recession is affecting the UK’s top chefs.

Tom Aikens (of Tom Aikens restaurant) and Anthony Demetre (Arbutus, Wild Honey) are scheduled to appear in a number of panel discussions at the Business Briefing Theatre, a new show feature for 2009.

There will also be input from other industry experts including Bob Cotton, chief executive of the British Hospitality association, Hibiscus co-owner Claire Bosi, and David Gibson, chief executive of restaurant consultancy GBI.

Panellists will debate topical issues, such as the role of restaurant critics and strategies for ensuring the success of a restaurant.

Clair Bowman, show manager, said: “The Business Briefing Theatre will offer visitors an unrivalled chance to hear the latest thinking on a whole range of topics. We’ve secured some of the leading figures in the restaurant industry.”

The Restaurant Show takes place on October 12-14 at London’s Earl’s Court. Entry is free of charge to all show visitors.
