Three more sponsors have teamed up with Fresh Produce Journal, Highbury Nexus and the FPC to support the inaugural Re:fresh Conference and Awards.

The Chilean Fresh Fruit Association, which represents Chile’s fresh fruit exporters around the world, will sponsor the Re:fresh Chilean Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Innovation Award at the May 6 event at The Marriott, Grosvenor Square.

The largest fresh fruit exporter in the southern hemisphere, Chile has placed great emphasis on the creation and implementation of its own GAP programme in the last five years, illustrating its commitment to providing the world’s markets with fruit that meets the quality and safety standards they require.

Mack is the sponsor of the final session of the Re:fresh Conference, Giant Steps, which will feature PMA president Bryan Silbermann and Wal-Mart vice-president, perishables Bruce Peterson.

Mack is one of the largest and most successful suppliers of fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers in the UK. Founded in 1874, it remains a privately owned company, and has annual sales in excess of

£269 million of fresh fruits and vegetables from over 60 countries around the world.

Fruit Logistica, the leading annual European exhibition and conference dedicated to the fresh produce industry, will sponsor the after-lunch session, The IT Principle, in which SAP, one of the world’s leading IT specialists will update the industry on the next generation of IT requirements for the fresh produce trade at all levels.

Fruit Logistica, a four-day event held in Berlin each year, has become a focal point for the world of fresh produce. Fruit Logistica 2004 attracted 1,112 exhibitors and more than 22,000 visitors.
